چکیده: 

This work is designed to study the energy management of a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC), which is based on the activity and management of water and its effect on the electrolyte membrane (FC) as a function of the influx of hydrogen and oxygen, by taking into account the influence of humidification on the implementation of this electrical system to avoid drying and flooding that can cause deterioration of the FC. The cell voltage and system efficiency are also influenced by current density and operating temperature, and simulation results on MATLAB/Simulink are discussed.

Introduction: Conclusive evidences for the presence of insulin and insulin receptors in the mammalian CNS and it has been postulated that can modulate peripheral glucose homeostasis. In present experiment we evaluate the effect of insulin on EEG as electrical activity of the brain in rat. Material and Methods: In this study we used from 30 male rats were divided to 3 groups as follow: Group 1: insulin 0.1µg/kg, group 2: insulin 1µg/kg and Group 3: insulin 2µg/kg. Animals received insulin as interaperituneal, and then were taken EEG from them.Results: The results showed that a low dose of insulin increased delta wave of EEG and decreased alpha, beta and teta waves.Conclusion: These results demonstrate that low dose insulin decrease brain activity. Insulin in high dose led to deduction of delta wave in EEG and increased alpha, teta and especially beta waves. These results demonstrate elevation of brain activity, and therefore the results may be due to insulin penetration from BBB and probably it has a direct effect on CNS.

چکیده: 

برق گرفتگی یکی از مباحث مهم و پیچیده در پزشکی قانونی و طب کار می باشد که ابعاد مختلف آن قابل بررسی و تامل می باشد، گذشته از موارد نقص عضوی و آسیبهای الکتریکی، تشخیص نحوه حدوث و تابلوی مرگ نیز چه از نظر حقوقی و چه از نظر پزشکی قانونی، دارای اهمیت بسزایی است، برای نیل به این هدف و بررسی ابعاد گوناگون برق گرفتگی، پس از استخراج کلیه موارد مرگ و میز ناشی از حوادث، در طول یک و نیم سال مذکور ارجاع شده به سازمان پزشکی قانونی، فاکتورهای دموگرافیک و همچنین آثار و علائم برق گرفتگی و نحوه حدوث مرگ در اجساد با اعلام فوت برق گرفتگی استنتاج گردید، که در آن بیشترین میزان برق گرفتگی در دهه دوم و سوم عمر و در ارتباط با حوادث مرتبط با شغل بوده و اکثریت موارد مرگ و میر، با آریتمی ایست قلبی متعاقب فیبریلاسیون بطنی و خطرناکترین حالت برق گرفتگی، منجر به قوت عبور جریان از دست راست و انتقال از میان پاها قلمداد گردید، مهم ترین مسئله در برق گرفتگی پیشگیری از وقوع آن است و این میسر نمی گردد، مگر آنکه آموزش همگانی و بالا بردن سطح آگاهیهای جامعه، و رعایت بهداشت کار، توسط کارگر و کارفرما و حاکم نمودن بهداشت صنعتی، در سرلوحه شاغلین و جامعه انسانی قرار گیرد.

In this study, a mathematical model is developed based on algebraic equations which is capable of generating artificially normal events of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals such as P-wave, QRS complex, and T-wave. This model can also be implemented for the simulation of abnormal phenomena of electrocardiographic signals such as STsegment episodes (i.e. depression, elevation, and sloped ascending or descending) and repolarization abnormalities such as T-Wave Alternans (TWA). Event parameters such as amplitude, duration, and incidence time in the conventional ECG leads can be a good reflective of heart electrical activity in specific directions. The presented model can also be used for the simulation of ECG signals on torso plane or limb leads. To meet this end, the amplitude of events in each of the 15-lead ECG waveforms of 80 normal subjects at MITBIH Database (www.physionet.org) are derived and recorded. Various statistical analyses such as amplitude mean value, variance and confidence intervals calculations, Anderson- Darling normality test, and Bayesian estimation of events amplitude are then conducted. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) model has also been incorporated to this model with HF/LF and VLF/LF waves power ratios. Eventually, in order to demonstrate the suitable flexibility of the presented model in simulation of ECG signals, fascicular ventricular tachycardia (left septal ventricular tachycardia), rate dependent conduction block (Aberration), and acute Qwave infarctions of inferior and anterior-lateral walls are finally simulated. The opensource simulation code of above abnormalities will be freely available.

The shape of interspike interval (ISI) trajectory is one of the main electrophysiological properties that are related to the pattern of neural activity. Here, to study the relationship between ISI profile and firing pattern, conventional current clamp experiments performed in neurons of snail Caucasotachea atrolabiata. In control conditions, most neurons showed spontaneous rhythmic firing. The regular action potentials were interspaced with convex after hyperpolarizations (AHP) showing fast and medium components. High frequency trains of evoked action potentials showed spike frequency adaptation (SFA) and were followed by a prominent slow post stimulus AHP in a concave profile. Both apamin, a selective antagonist of slow Ca2+-dependent K+ channels, and nifedipine, an L-type Ca2+ channel blocker, suppressed the medium component of single-spike AHP and disrupted the rhythmic activity, which was evidenced as a significant increase in the coefficient of variation (CV) of ISI, but did not affect neither SFA nor post stimulus AHP. The strong correlation between firing rate and both action potential height and maximum raising slope during evoked activity, supported the importance of Na+ channel inactivation rather than ISI modulation by Ca2+ accumulation in the generation of SFA. When recording performed in Ca2+ Ringer, an afterdepolarization on the falling phase of the Ca2+ spikes was occasionally present and could be upmodulated by activation of protein kinase C. This in turn was associated with a decrease in the firing regularity. Findings show that the normal ISI profile is essential for the control of rhythmic spontaneous activity but is not involved in SFA.
